Elderhostel Quarterly Photo Contest:
Capture the Adventure
The Elderhostel
Photo Contest is your chance to express yourself through the wonders of photography.
Amateur, hobbyist or professional — if you have a digital camera and a sense of
adventure, you can take inspiring photos that reflect your enthusiasm for lifelong
learning. First place winners receive a $100 Elderhostel program voucher, and all
three finalists receive a special gift.

Enter Current Contest
The theme for our current photo contest is Active Learning. Click here to
view a sample photo. If you have digital photographs depicting active learning
elements of your Elderhostel program, follow the entry directions below for a chance
to win. Show us your outdoor adventures of hot-air balloon rides or hikes along
canyon pathways, or indoor experiences where you cooked local delicacies or painted a
masterpiece.
Deadline for entry is Friday, September 26th, 2008, so send us your photos of
Active Learning as soon as possible. Participants are allowed to enter up to
three photos per contest.
Judging
Elderhostel’s Quarterly Photo Contest Committee judges submissions based on the
following criteria:
Adherence to the contest theme (50%):
Photograph must reflect
the theme for each quarterly contest.
Composition (25%):
Are the components of the photograph framed
and balanced attractively?
Creativity (25%):
Did the participant approach the photo from a
unique perspective?
